EVENT DETAILS

Dates: March 25
Check-in: 3:30 – 4:30 PM
Start time: 4:30 PM
Entry fee: $40
Route: Get to the top of the ridge, over to Blackbear and down Motherlode intact! Route pictured below in purple. The route is weather permitting and will be adjusted if necessary. We will use the previous year's route if the forecast calls for low visibility and stormy weather.
Required Gear: Beacon, Probe, Shovel

From bottom to the top of the ridge, across and back down, this race tests your fitness and endurance on the uphill and skiing on the downhill.

The sport of skimo continues to grow in the lower 48 and worldwide in anticipation of its inclusion in the next Winter Olympics.  Popular races are hosted at ski areas around the world. Our event is designed to be more casual and fun, welcoming all skiers and splitboarders. All you need to bring is basic ski touring equipment: skis with touring bindings or splitboard, skins for climbing, and basic avalanche safety equipment (beacon shovel probe and helmet). From casual skiers to fitness freaks, all are welcome!

Expect: Meet at Eaglecrest’s Fish Creek Lodge to sign in and get a pre-race briefing and beacon check. We’ll do a mass start at Fish Creek Lodge. We’re setting an exciting route across the mountain that will test your endurance and showcase Eaglecrest’s world-class views and terrain. For the after-work events, we’ll be timing our uphill performance so we can take it easy on the ski down.

New name, new route, same wacky costume contest.
